A ’Ray of Hope’, as the name signifies, is what Asha Kiran is to its beneficiaries. Located in Andheri West, Mumbai, it is a community project for women, children and the senior citizens
The Main Objective
To provide accommodation for senior women citizens.
Act as a transient guest accommodation service.
Act as an emergency shelter for women in distress.
Act as a counselling and legal aid service centre for women in distress, especially those suffering from domestic violence.
Facilities and Services
Balwadis, Creche and Study Centre
Library: Novels and books on diverse subjects are available.
Amphitheatre: Anopen-air theatre with seating upto 100 persons at the rear end is used for in-house programmes and also rented out to the atre groups for their programmes.
Extension Classes: Bharatnatyam and Kathak classes are conducted thrice a week.
Conference Hall and the Meeting Room are used by women’s groups, as well as, in-house for various meetings and programmes.

A six-month beautician course for training young women in professional grooming.
Four-week online courses – CHSM (Cooperative Housing Society Management Course) and NISM (National Institute of Security Market) run by professionals.
BMC English-medium School Study-centre for underprivileged girls.
Three-month English Conversation Classes conducted for women and girls.
Basic and Advanced Tailoring, Basic and Bridal Mehendi, Extension classesare held.
Vacation Courses like Nail Art, Self-grooming and Hobby classes are conducted.
